Right on the sand at Bude, this is the sort of spot where the view does half the work — breakfast with the sea in front of you, and sunsets people still talk about. It gets genuinely busy in school holidays and on sunny weekends, but food comes out fast, which matters when someone small is losing patience; one family had two meals on the table within five minutes. Breakfasts get the loudest praise (a small cooked breakfast around £8.95, properly good sausage and eggs), and the prawn sandwich is more prawn than bread. Drinks are on the steep side, and live music at weekends makes it lively rather than restful.
