Dessert · Manchester
Tucked inside the Arndale, this is the sort of dessert stop that works when everyone's shopped out and someone needs sugar immediately. The layout is wide and flat enough to get a pram through without an apology tour, and there are high chairs, a kids' menu and a few outdoor seats. Waffles are the thing to order — big enough that one split four ways gives everyone a snack, or halved makes a proper pudding for two — and the Biscoff doughnut comes warmed. Cookie dough and lemon meringue cheesecake also get plenty of love, there's an allergen PDF to check, and vegan options. Staff are warm with children; one parent's boy was "over the moon" with the portion size. Worth knowing: the music runs loud, and when it's busy orders can arrive several minutes apart.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
