Café · Launceston
A few minutes out of Launceston, this one rewards the drive — the gardens are the whole point, with proper views across to the town and castle, and enough outdoor tables that a pram is never in anyone's way. Little corners to tuck into, including a shed you'll be sent photos of later. Free parking right by the door, at least three toilets so no queue with a desperate three-year-old, and staff who genuinely don't mind the chaos — food arrives hot and quickly. Daily specials run to soups, quiches and flatbreads, breakfasts are beautifully done, and the cream tea and cakes are what regulars come back for. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and vegan options. Worth booking, it fills up. The coffee tastes machine-made rather than barista-poured, but nobody seems to mind.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
