Cafés · Hayle
Tucked into the cove above Hayle beach, this is the sort of stop that rewards a long walk with sea views out towards St Ives and, on cooler days, a log fire indoors. Outdoor tables catch the scenery, there are high chairs and a kids' menu, and children's hot chocolate arrives loaded with "the works" on top — reliably a hit. Breakfast baps, the crab bap, garlic mushrooms and generous rocky road all get singled out, and the coffee and chai latte are genuinely good. Staff are warm and nobody hurries you along; families have sat for hours over lunch. Vegan options and dogs are both fine here. Two honest snags: food can be slow at around 25 minutes even when it's quiet, and it's up a coastal path from the beach, so factor in the walk with a pram.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
