Grounded Espresso Bar Newry
A warm, well-rated Newry cafe with a kids' menu, high chairs and vegan options to suit the whole family.

Steak house · Newry
You'll want to book for a Saturday night here, because it fills up and the floor staff can get stretched thin — but the trade-off is a room that's genuinely lovely: cosy, spotless, music on but never so loud you can't hear a small person asking for more bread. Families with young children get looked after properly. Kids' food comes out well ahead of the adults', and the team make a point of chatting to them through the evening rather than tolerating them. High chairs, buggy access and free parking take the faff out of arriving. The steaks are the draw — fillet, the ribeye special, the truffle parmesan fries — and portions defeat most people before pudding, which is just as well since dessert choice is thin. It's not cheap, but one parent found it "worth it".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
