Pit & Pendulum
Atmospheric Gothic-themed Nottingham pub serving cocktails and global dishes alongside classic pub food, with outdoor seating for families.

British · Nottingham
Set inside a grand old building with high ceilings, warm lighting and proper vintage furniture, this is a place that feels like an occasion without demanding you dress for one. There's genuine room to move — plenty of space for a pram, and upstairs seating that's calmer than the main floor if you'd rather not eat in the thick of things. Staff are attentive without hovering, and they handle big tables well, so a family group of eight or nine won't faze them. Portions are generous, the menu is long enough to please a fussy eater, and the burger with pork belly gets a lot of love. Two honest snags: the low sofa tables are awkward with small children, and food can be slow to arrive even when it's quiet — so book, and bring something to occupy them.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
