What stands out most is the staff: consistently warm and quick to check in, keeping water topped up in the heat and getting food out fast even when the place is heaving. The Spanish chicken, fish and chips, and the pies with garlic mash all get proper praise, and portions are generous. It buzzes at weekends and in party season, so book if you want a calm table. Wine runs a little pricier than you might expect.
