Sitting at the west end of Limekilns with outdoor tables looking over the Forth, this is a genuinely easy stop with children — free parking, buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu, plus water bowls if the dog is along too. Breakfast is the thing: the Coorie breakfast with tattie scones, the wee breakfast for smaller appetites, avocado on sourdough and maple waffles with bacon all get real praise, and portions are generous. Staff are young, warm and attentive, and the room is bright and welcoming. Two honest caveats: it's popular and often busy, and while service is usually quick, some families have waited 25 minutes and had breakfasts arrive staggered or only lukewarm. The vegan breakfast is on the sparse side. Coffee is reliably good. One family called it "a definite hidden gem".
