A railway theme, a quiet spot beside the road and a big free car park make this an easy stop with children in tow — you can get a pram in without a battle, and the undercover decking outside is handy when small people need to make noise. Breakfast is the thing: the medium full English comes with toast and a drink and gets rave notices, the Lincolnshire sausages are properly local, and the fishfinger wrap with tartar sauce is a good bet for fussier eaters. One parent's five-year-old, who "doesn't eat a lot of things", ate the sausage. Food arrives quickly and freshly cooked, staff go out of their way, and other customers tend to chat to you. Two coffees and two muffins came to £12, so drinks aren't the bargain the breakfasts are — and the eggs are hit and miss.
