Birmingham's Chinese Quarter stalwart has been going for decades and still fills up, which tells you something. Portions are the headline — most families order to share, and plenty of people walk out with a box for tomorrow's tea. The crispy chilli beef and yuk sung get named again and again, the dim sum is properly good (those beef rice noodle rolls have wonderfully thin wrappers), and there are two-plus pages of vegan options, so nobody's stuck with plain rice. Staff are warm with children — one family mentions the team going out of their way to joke about with their daughter. High chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor seating help. Worth knowing: the gluten-free entrance is round a side gate rather than the main doors, and the fried noodles can lean salty.
