Portions are generous: the sirloin comes cooked exactly as asked with a smoky char, the beer-battered haddock is thick and crisp, and the haggis bon bons with maple mustard aioli are worth ordering even if you think you don't like haggis. Sticky toffee pudding arrives enormous — easily shareable. Evenings feel more grown-up and it's a hotel restaurant, so book at busy times.
