Chinese · Birmingham
Birmingham's Chinatown has a couple of long-standing dim sum spots, and this is one of them — a big, busy room where the trolleys of steamed dumplings keep coming and the prawn fillings are properly hearty. Portions are generous and prices genuinely reasonable; families regularly walk out having ordered eight dishes without it stinging. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, plenty of seating so a pram isn't a crisis, and the toilets are clean. Food tends to arrive fast once you've ordered, which matters when someone's hungry and vocal. Two honest snags: weekend lunch gets packed, so arrive early or expect a wait, and when it's rammed it can take a while to catch a waiter's eye. Go off-peak and it's calm, warm and very good.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
