Maki & Ramen
Buzzy Glasgow ramen with a drum welcome, kids' menu, high chairs and standout vegan choices — book ahead at weekends.

Tucked between a KFC and a bookies, this one takes a bit of finding — down a hallway and up a flight of stairs to a first-floor dining room, which is worth knowing if you're bringing a pram, as the stairs are the only way up (and the toilets are up another flight again). Once you're in, though, it's easy going with children: high chairs, a kids' menu, and staff who don't rush you or blink at sharing plates. The menu runs to over 300 items, so fussy eaters are covered, and prices are gentle — one group of five ate four mains with rice and tea for around £18 each. Families rave about the Thai-style crispy chicken, the sweet and sour prawns and the starter platter. Portions are generous, the room is dated but the food is genuinely good.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
