Caffe Massarella
A mid-range Matlock restaurant with a kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor seating for easy family meals out.

Restaurant · Matlock
A popular stop for Peak District cyclists and Chatsworth day-trippers, this one earns its crowds — the interior is genuinely lovely, there's plenty of seating so a pram isn't a problem, and there's indoor soft play to buy you twenty minutes of adult conversation. Free parking, high chairs, a kids' menu and vegan options all help, as does outdoor seating on a decent day. The flatbreads come up again and again, the ploughman's is a big hitch above average, and the mushroom tagliatelle and coffee are both worth ordering. Toilets are spotless, which parents notice. Two honest caveats: it gets very busy, so food can be slow at peak times and service occasionally drifts, and it's worth booking ahead for a table. Staff are warm and quick to put things right when asked.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
