A working farm setting does a lot of the heavy lifting here — the courtyard feels like a farm cottage garden and is lovely on a warm day, with plenty of room inside and out, so a pram isn't a problem and there's free parking before you even get to the door. Breakfasts are the draw: well-cooked eggs, bacon people single out, hearty plates and very good cakes and pastries, plus a kids' menu, high chairs and vegan options. Staff are genuinely warm and food arrives fairly quickly, which matters when someone's flagging. Two honest notes: it gets properly busy on sunny weekends and you may wait for a table, and coffee is hit-and-miss — one parent found their flat white excellent, another called the americanos "bitter, watery". Prices strike some as a touch high.
