About Chaophraya

Set inside a former music academy, the room is genuinely beautiful — high ceilings, comfortable seating, Thai-themed decor — and roomy enough that a pram isn't a problem. There's a proper kids' menu, high chairs, outdoor seating and vegan dishes, and the staff are patient, happily untangling which unfamiliar dish belongs to whom. Sharing small plates work well with children: the pad mee sua with pork belly gets eaten off your plate by everyone, and the chicken spring rolls and panang curry come up again and again. Two honest notes — food can take a while to arrive, so order something to nibble early, and it's pricier than a usual family dinner out. The mango sticky rice divides opinion. One diner called the whole experience "quality, quantity, and tranquility", which is rare with kids in tow.
