Bealim House
A Newcastle gin distillery and bar in a rustic former printworks, serving tapas and classic pub fare in a relaxed setting.

Café · Newcastle upon Tyne
From the street it looks more like a pub than a coffee house, which is why plenty of people walk past it for years without going in. Inside it's modern and relaxed, with sofas you can sink into, room to get a buggy through, high chairs and a kids' menu, plus free WiFi if you need ten quiet minutes. The coffee is the real draw — a smooth, rounded blend, served by staff who'll happily suggest something. Sandwiches are the thing to order over the paninis; the cajun chicken with chorizo and spicy cheese has a proper following. It's a touch pricey for what it is, gets noisy on match days, and the outdoor tables sit right on the pavement beside traffic, so stay inside with little ones. One parent calls it "a quiet little gem".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
