Portions are generous and prices fair, food comes out quickly and hot, and the toilets are spotless (with public ones nearby too). High chairs and a kids' menu are sorted, and the millionaire's shortbread and tea cakes are worth a detour. It gets busy at lunchtime, which is a good sign but does mean noise. Worth knowing: service can be brisk to the point of abrupt on an off day, though most families find the staff friendly. There's a fenced dog area and a covered hut outside if you've brought the dog along as well.
