Weekend breakfasts here have a settled, unhurried feel — plenty of seating, no canned music, and a chef cooking in full view upstairs, which is quietly fascinating if you have a child who won't sit still. Buggy access and high chairs are sorted, there's free parking, and the kids' menu means you're not carving up an adult plate. Breakfast runs until 2pm, which is forgiving on a slow morning, and portions are generous — the eggs Benedict and the smaller breakfast both get singled out, along with the cakes and scones. Vegan and gluten-free are properly catered for, not an afterthought. Prices are fair for what lands on the plate. Dogs are allowed downstairs but not upstairs, so head up if yours isn't keen. One parent says nothing is too much trouble — off-menu requests included.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
