Caffi Glas
A relaxed Penrhyndeudraeth restaurant with a kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor seating — easy for a family meal out.

Set inside a castle on the edge of Portmeirion, this is a smarter lunch than most family days out involve — but it works if you time it right. The fixed-price two-course menu is genuinely good value, and it usually comes with free entry to the village afterwards, which means a proper stroll to burn off the wriggles once the plates are cleared. Booking is essential; tables go. The Welsh lamb is the thing people come back for, falling off the bone, and the mussels, oysters and desserts get just as much praise. There's a roaring fire, sometimes a live pianist, lovely views, high chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access, outdoor seating and free parking. It's a dressy dining hall rather than a casual café, and steak can be hit and miss.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
