Cafés · Keighley
Right on the towpath at Kildwick, this is the sort of stop that rewards a canal walk or a bike ride with the buggy — flat access, free parking (though the canal-side spaces are tight, so park a little further back and walk down), and a covered outdoor seating area that's sheltered from the wind with heaters going when it's cold. There are high chairs and a kids' menu, and small goat pens that keep little ones happily occupied while you finish your coffee; sometimes donkeys and goats come up from the farm. Food is fresh, quick and genuinely cheap — the homemade sausage rolls, bacon sandwiches and a millionaire's shortbread big enough to share get the most praise, and one couple managed coffee and food for two under a tenner. Staff are unfailingly smiley and patient. Worth knowing: special pop-up evening events have run badly late, so stick to daytimes.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
