Y Llew Coch - The Red Lion
A well-rated B&B pub in Machynlleth, making a comfortable base for families exploring mid-Wales.

Cafés · Machynlleth
Tucked into the middle of Machynlleth, this is the kind of stop that rescues a long drive with children in the back. It's bright and clean, with mismatched tables and comfy sofas — easy to park a buggy beside — and free parking outside, plus a few outdoor seats. High chairs and a kids' menu are there when you need them. Food comes fast even for a big group, and the staff are unfailingly patient: one family turned up nine-strong with two dogs and were welcomed without fuss. The Welsh rarebit with tomato and basil soup, the scones and the frangipane get raved about, and the cakes are vegan and very good. Music plays but isn't loud. It fills up, so a weekend late-morning table isn't guaranteed.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
