Cafés · Caernarfon
Tucked in next to the Inigo Jones slate works, this is a plain, cheerful little café that does proper home cooking — scouse, steak and beef pie with homemade chips, chicken curry with big chunks of tender meat, and an all-day breakfast people travel for. Portions are generous, prices sensible, and the staff are quick and obliging, happy to swap scrambled for fried or sort a plate without meat, which helps when a child is particular. Everything's cooked fresh and comes out fast. There are high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking, and buggies get in easily, though it's worth knowing the room is small with not many seats. Bench tables outside are served too, and dogs are welcome. The coffee is instant and unremarkable — one parent found it "cheap" but nothing more.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
