Brunch here is the kind that gets talked about — expect a queue at weekends, sometimes a long one, so a weekday visit with children is the smarter call. Inside is clean and pleasant to sit in, with high chairs, buggy access and a kids' menu, plus free parking nearby. Portions are big enough that adults can ask for a half portion, which also solves the problem of a child who'll only eat off your plate. The harissa hummus toast is the standout, and the pancakes with summer berries get described in near-reverent terms; the Stornoway black pudding is worth ordering too. Mains run roughly £12–18. Service stays quick and genuinely warm even when the room is rammed, and staff greet you with a smile — one visitor called it "a tremendous experience".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
