Ample seating and a genuinely chilled atmosphere make this an easy one with small children — the music sits at a level that doesn't drown out conversation, and there's room to park a buggy. The staff are the thing people mention most: welcoming, proactive, honest about timings (one visitor was warned upfront that an omelette would take half an hour, and appreciated the heads-up). All-day breakfast is the strong suit — fried eggs and avocado on sourdough, the vegan bap with surprisingly good vegan bacon, BLTs with root vegetable soup. Gluten free, veggie and vegan options throughout, a kids' menu, high chairs, and a cake counter that's hard to choose from. Worth knowing: Saturday lunchtime gets packed and noisy, and it's also a charity bar supporting drug and alcohol services.
