Tucked into the heart of Upton, this is one of those places that looks small from the pavement and turns out to be far bigger inside — clean, spacious, with room to park a pram without apologising to anyone. Free parking outside helps enormously, and the owners run it with real warmth; families come back partly for that. Weekday mornings are quiet, which is when it's easiest with little ones. The coffee is genuinely good, the sausage and bacon batch is a favourite, and the ginger cake gets specific praise. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and outdoor seating. Two honest notes: food prices aren't displayed, so you'll need to ask, and it's crept up — one parent counted £33 for four coffees and four cakes. The upstairs chairs wobble, too.
