Tucked in the heart of town, this is a small, cosy spot — marble-look tables, black-and-white chairs — so it's snug rather than sprawling, but there's buggy access, high chairs and outdoor seating when you'd rather not squeeze a pram between tables. Food comes out fast and hot, which matters when someone's hungry and wobbling: full English at around £12.75 with two proper sausages, crispy hash browns and fried bread, bagels piled with egg, salmon and cream cheese, huge milkshakes and strawberry lemonade in summer. There's a kids' menu, vegan choices and a counter of homemade cakes. The staff are genuinely warm — nothing too much trouble, one parent says. It's popular and can fill up, especially weekend lunchtimes, and dogs are welcome too, with treats and blankets by the door.
