Cafés · Saint Austell
Tucked into the village and easy to underestimate from the outside, this is a small, spotless café that families keep coming back to. Breakfast is the main event — cooked breakfasts arrive well presented and generous, the veggie version gets just as much praise, and the sausage rolls, pasties, cheese scones and cakes are worth a detour. Fillings are simple and unfussy (white buns, no ceremony), which suits most children fine. The staff are consistently warm and unhurried with little ones, there are high chairs and a kids' menu, and buggies fit without a fuss. The car park is free, and it makes a good stop before a walk around the old mines ten minutes away. One snag: the filter coffee has disappointed at least one adult. Outdoor seating and vegan options round it out.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
