A pub-turned-restaurant in the middle of the city that still feels like a proper local, which makes it an easy one with kids in tow — buggies get in fine, there are high chairs and a children's menu, and the staff are quick and genuinely friendly when you need food on the table fast. The tucked-away outdoor area at the back is the real find, and there's a glass house section for when Glasgow does what Glasgow does. Menu is comfort classics: mac and cheese, burgers, pizzas, lasagne, and a steak pie people go back for, plus haggis bonbons and garlic parmesan fries that get raved about. Portions are big and prices reasonable, though it's a mixed bag — some find the odd dish underwhelming. Cosy rather than roomy, and worth booking at busy times.
