Shish Restaurant
Turkish and Middle Eastern cooking in Hinckley with step-free entry, high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor tables.

Cafés · Hinckley
Tucked down a side street but still right in the middle of town, this is the kind of tearoom where nothing feels rushed and nobody minds if your table is a bit chaotic. The staff are patient and genuinely warm with children, and there's a real willingness to work around allergies and fussy eaters — gluten-free, vegetarian and trickier combinations are handled properly, plated to look like everyone else's, not an afterthought. Afternoon tea is the thing to book, with homemade cakes, fresh sandwiches and quiche in portions generous enough that boxes come out for the leftovers. Breakfasts arrive hot and hearty. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and outdoor tables where dogs are welcome. No car park of its own, but free street parking and larger car parks are a short walk away. Group bookings and private hire are possible; one family called it "absolutely perfect".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
