Off-street parking beside the building is the first small mercy here — the main street through Scone has short limits and not much space, but there's a private car park with a door leading straight into the restaurant, which makes the pram-and-toddler shuffle far easier. Inside it's bright and roomy, tables well spaced, and the mood stays relaxed even on a busy weekday. Staff are quick to greet, seat and check back, and there are high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor seating for warmer days. Food is cooked fresh so breakfasts can take a little while — worth knowing with hungry children. The Cajun chicken and chorizo pasta gets rave notices, the haddock and macaroni cheese come in big portions, and the gluten-free menu is genuinely good, right down to the scones. Dogs are welcome in the bar.
