It's a big room, so there's space for a pram and no need to apologise for a bit of noise, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking of its own. Breakfast is the thing people come back for — eggs cooked properly, granary toast, good-quality ingredients that aren't swimming in grease, with the big breakfast, toast and tea somewhere around £11.50. The place and the toilets are kept genuinely clean, which matters when you're changing a toddler. Staff are generally warm — one parent arrived too late for food and still wasn't made to feel unwelcome over a cuppa. Fry-up quality can wobble on the odd item, but it's honest food at a fair price, with outdoor seating for warmer days.
