Brighton Smokehouse
Quiet Brighton seafood spot with a kids' menu, high chairs, step-free buggy access and outdoor seating.

Seafood · Brighton
Right on the pebbles, with the sea filling the whole view — this is a kiosk with tables on the beach rather than a restaurant, which suits kids who can't sit still but means no shelter when it rains or bakes. Seafood comes in small, medium and large portions, so children can have a taste without a wasted plateful, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and a dozen oysters for around £20 rather than the £40-plus elsewhere in town. The crab and lobster rolls draw the most praise, along with sweet crayfish, big whelks (they'll cut them up if asked) and marinated octopus. Service is quick and the owners are friendly. One genuine warning, delivered cheerfully by the team as "watch out for the pirates": Brighton's seagulls are bold enough to dive at a pot of cockles, so guard small hands and plates.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
