Café · Bath
A shady corner of Kingsmead Square with plenty of outdoor tables, which makes it easy to park a buggy and let everyone spread out — though the seagulls here are bold, so if your children are eating, inside is the safer bet. Breakfast is the draw: the full English is enormous (genuinely shareable), the crispy hash browns get ordered as a side by nearly everyone, and the shakshuka and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on sourdough both get real praise. Cakes are lovely too — the blueberry bakewell disappears fast. Staff are friendly and helpful about food intolerances, and you order from the table by QR code, which saves queueing with a toddler in tow. Two snags: it gets crowded at brunch so you may wait for a table, and the toilets are down a steep staircase.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
