Tucked down an alleyway in the town centre, this is an old building turned into a snug bar downstairs with an airy loft café above — high ceilings, exposed beams, old pews and retro bits, roomy enough that nobody feels squashed in. Staff are warm and genuinely attentive, patient with dietary requirements, and happy to sort a big table if you book ahead. Breakfast and brunch are the draw: thick homemade brioche french toast, chorizo hash, granola bowls, and sriracha hot honey hash brown bites that visitors call properly moreish. High chairs, a kids' menu and vegan options are all there. Worth knowing: the menu is short, coffee can be slow at busy times, and it's whole milk unless you pay extra for oat.
