There's a proper day-out feel to this place — a huge free car park with countryside views, an outdoor play area with plenty for little ones, and a play barn with big slides that costs £3 and buys you a decent stretch of running-around time. Inside is stuffed with Americana, and you can book a table in the full-size school bus, which small children find thrilling. Kids get menus, colouring sheets and a big pot of pencils. Food comes fast even when it's heaving, portions are generous, and the veggie burger (their own recipe), the skillet hash, the fall-apart brisket and the milkshakes all get raved about. Weekends are extremely busy, so book a slot; midweek is far calmer. High chairs, buggy access and vegan options are all sorted.
