Café · Winchester
Tucked down one of Winchester's back streets, this is a small Japanese-Korean café and bakery that families have quietly adopted. The bibimbap arrives with proper chicken thigh, the homemade dumplings (there's a veggie version) and salmon futomaki get raved about, and portions are generous — the prawn fried rice especially. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and a handful of outdoor tables, which are the roomiest option for a pram, though they go fast. Be warned: it's genuinely popular, inside seating is tight, and waits of 20 minutes are normal at lunch — one family waited closer to 50. Come early, or order the bakery counter's Japanese milk rolls and brown butter sea salt cookies to take away. The staff stay friendly and attentive even when every table is full.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
