A relaxed, well-rated Cardiff café with a laid-back feel and mid-range menu — an easy spot to pause with little ones.

Sunday mornings here run on quick, freshly cooked breakfasts — the £11.50 Bentleys breakfast comes with toast, and food tends to land fast, which matters when someone small is unravelling. It's a proper sit-down café with plenty of seating inside, buggy access and high chairs, plus tables outside and free parking, so the arrival faff is minimal. The staff stay friendly even when it's busy and don't hover, and one parent noted how spotlessly clean it always is. Beyond breakfast there are properly stuffed wraps, a side salad with a genuinely good dressing, omelettes, smoothies and glass-bottle pop, and the pistachio cake is worth sharing. A kids' menu and vegan options cover most tables. Prices have crept up and the fry-up can be hit-or-miss, but it's still good value.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
