Italian · Bristol
Right on the banks of the Avon, this is the kind of Italian that handles a family group without fuss — there's a decent-sized indoor room with bench seating, a smaller terrace strung with fairy lights looking out over the river and St Peter's Church, and a downstairs loo that saves anyone from tackling the stairs. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access and vegan choices are all sorted, and service tends to be quick and smiley even when it's busy, which matters when someone's patience is running out. Portions are generous and prices genuinely reasonable — the lobster ravioli, the big fresh prawns, the arancini and the tiramisu all get raved about. It fills up in the evenings, so book if you're a group; one family of sixteen said the team "looked after us really well".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
