Tucked beside Fordington Green, this is a small, family-run place — one half of the family cooks the savouries, the other bakes the cakes — and the warmth shows. It isn't huge, though there's seating upstairs as well as down, plus tables out on the green itself, which is where you'll want to be with a buggy and a restless toddler: quiet, shaded, and easy to let children wander a little. Staff are friendly and genuinely good with families. The sausage rolls, ham and cheese croissants and banana bread all get raved about, the coffee more so, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking. Vegan and gluten-free choices exist but are limited, so check before promising anything. One parent found it good rather than the full 4.9 — still, a lovely, calm stop.
