Midgar Coffee
Step-free café and bakery in Bury St Edmunds with high chairs, a kids' menu, outdoor seating and vegan and gluten-free choices.

Restaurant · Bury Saint Edmunds
Tucked away from the chain restaurants, this is a small, warm place where the welcome is genuine and the staff make actual conversation with you — worth knowing if your children take a while to settle. The food is the draw: slow-braised beef hash with kimchi and gochujang (ask for it mild if you're sharing), loaded fries, a properly good mac and cheese made with real cheese, big English breakfasts, and scones coming out of the ovens all day. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, outdoor seating and buggy access, plus vegan options. Be warned it's a compact premises and gets busy — one visitor found tables near the counter feel a bit watched, and on packed days service can feel brisk. Upstairs is the calmer spot. Food generally arrives fast, which helps.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
