A restored railway station where the main dining rooms are full-size replica Orient Express carriages — and yes, children tend to lose their minds a bit when they realise there's a steam engine at the front. It's a proper sit-down treat rather than a quick pit stop, so booking ahead is sensible, especially at weekends; the carriages fill and there's no car park, just free roadside parking a short walk away. Food comes out fast even when it's busy, portions are generous enough that people leave with boxes, and the staff are warm with families. Kids' menu, high chairs and vegan options are all sorted, plus clean toilets on site. Outside there's a little shop, plants for sale, a bird hide and a nature reserve across the road — handy for burning off energy before or after. One family called it the highlight of their holiday.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
