Indian · Bangor, Gwynedd
Small, not fancy, and full most nights within half an hour of opening — so book ahead, especially if you need space for a buggy. The kids' menu is a genuinely decent one rather than the usual nuggets, and spice levels get dialled down without fuss, so children who baulk at heat are easy to feed. High chairs are there, and staff have a reputation for going out of their way over allergies. Food arrives quickly, which matters when someone is losing patience. Portions are generous and prices fair — around £36 for a family spread of pakoras, jalfrezi, karahi, rice and naan. It's not licensed, but you can bring your own with glasses provided, and there's a shop right opposite. Free parking nearby, though the car park is small.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
