Bistro · Wells-next-the-Sea
Tucked at the top of Staithe Street, this small bistro packs in a lot — and it does get properly busy, so book if you can, especially for evening service (currently Thursday to Saturday, with lunches midweek). Buggy access and high chairs are sorted, and there's outdoor seating if you'd rather not squeeze a pram between tables inside. The cooking is the draw: paella heavy with smoky paprika and saffron, prawns, chorizo and chicken; fresh crab tacos to share; a crab salad people rave about; a burger that keeps children happy. Puddings are worth staying for — the lemon posset especially. Staff are warm with children and dogs alike, though service can drag when the room fills. Not the cheapest, but portions are generous and the local produce is handled simply.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
