Thai · York
Tucked into York with a takeaway counter attached, this is the sort of small Thai place families end up returning to. Portions are big enough that the low prices feel almost silly — one visitor thought it looked pricey until the rice and curry landed. The green curry gets the loudest praise, alongside pad gra pao (pork mince with a fried egg) and Penang duck, and the kitchen will happily dial the spice down for younger palates or swap ingredients on request. Vegan options run right through the menu. Staff are warm and attentive, and when mains take a while they check in and offer drinks rather than leaving you guessing. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access and free parking are all sorted, and the toilets are roomy and clean. It does get busy, and standards have wobbled for some regulars lately.
