There's a lot packed into a small space here, and it works in your favour once you're settled — the room has a proper buzz, records spinning on a deck, and enough warmth that nobody flinches when a toddler gets chatty. High chairs are there, there's a kids' menu, and outdoor seating gives you somewhere to go if the inside crush feels tight with a pram at peak brunch time. The coffee is genuinely excellent — flat whites properly textured, latte art done right — and the food punches above its weight: the special eggs and the hummus-and-eggs combination get the loudest praise. Staff tend to remember your order after a visit or two. Two sandwiches and a coffee can hit £30, though, and portions haven't always matched the menu descriptions, so go for brunch rather than a bargain.
