Set in what used to be a cricket pavilion, this one comes with views over the green — a genuinely nice distraction if a toddler needs something to look at while food arrives. Service is quick even when it's busy at teatime, and the staff ask carefully about allergies, which takes some of the worry out of ordering. There's a milder, non-spicy soup alongside the fiery stuff, plus a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking, so the logistics are easy. Portions are decent and prices fair for Cambridge — around £30 a head for three courses with drinks. The grilled pork skewers, tom yum and papaya salad get the most love; the desserts are the weak spot. It fills up in the evenings and gets lively, and one parent found the atmosphere "calm, relaxed" all the same.
