Restaurants · Gosport
Tucked away on the Gosport waterside, this is the kind of quiet spot where a toddler's meltdown won't feel like a public event — several families mention how tranquil it is, with few enough tables that there's room to park a pram without apologising to anyone. High chairs, a kids' menu and vegan options are there, and the outdoor seating is where you'll want to be: views across to the Spinnaker Tower, HMS Victory and the passing ferries, which buys you a good ten minutes of distraction. The pizzas and salads are large and genuinely good, the onion rings have a following, and the staff are smiley and quick. Two snags worth knowing: it gets very warm inside with no air con, and the free four-hour parking is only a handful of spaces at the far end of a residents' car park. Ring ahead — opening hours can be unreliable.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
