There's plenty of seating and a cosy, cheerful room, high chairs, a kids' menu and vegan options, and the staff have been known to shuffle tables to fit an extra chair in and make a fuss of a birthday. Slices are enormous and fairly priced — around £7 for a big one — with the pancetta and the caponata singled out again and again, and the tiramisu worth saving room for. Two snags: the loos are down in the basement and not always spotless, and service can be brisk rather than warm.
