Up a flight of stairs just above the falafel place in the city centre — worth knowing before you set off with a pram, as there's no step-free way in and the room itself is small, so ring ahead if there are more than a few of you. Once you're settled it's a genuinely warm spot: homemade Ethiopian and Eritrean cooking, traditional art on the walls, real music playing, and an owner who'll happily talk you through the menu if it's your children's first time with injera. The sharing platters do a lot of work with kids — the vegan one is enormous, the Doro Wat and Gomen Besega get the most praise, and portions are generous for ££. Food arrives quickly. High chairs and a kids' menu are available; vegan and vegetarian choices are clearly labelled. Cash only.
